Forgotten Chords

He strums a broken guitar

Searching for chords he knew

The songs he use to sing to me

He remembers a verse or two

The heavens filled with gods

There never was a choice

In a small world of billions

I remain listening to one voice

In fast cars and slow vans

Through smoke stained glass

The calendar never turned

his time would never pass

in the game of dog eat dog

I plead guilty as original sin

we did it all before once

And would do it all again

As leaves never leave trees

Burdens would be carried high

All the tears of joy shed

I again will be happy to cry

In a bright valley of paradise

No words should be said

Cause we will be together

Long after we are dead
