The symmetry of sadness

The symmetry of sadness

In remembrance of the smile

Coughs out the sacrifice

For the same are on trial

To the sun and back again

The moon gives in return

A cremated sense of joy

The emptiness to burn

Drink from the fountain

Of the pasteurized dimes

To quiet the sounds

Of all defined rhymes

Between Friar and Augusta

Cannonballs of peace

Sings the one man choir

Putting his blood on lease

a soldier had been knocking

a rose headed boy with water

an empty glass of smoke

that can travel on no farther

where nothing has a meaning

off to the sea of loss

art beyond the sycamore

and tilted at the cross
